The International Medical Admissions Test
IMAT, which stands for "International Medical Admissions Test", is the only official exam you will need to pass on your way to studying medicine in English in Italy.
The IMAT test is held in English and contains 60 questions (with 5 possible answers) of which: 4 logical reasoning, 5 culture and general knowledge, 23 biology, 15 chemistry, 13 physics and math. The exam takes 100 minutes. Every right answer gives 1.5 points, every wrong answer subtracts 0.4 points, 0 points for no response. So you can have maximum 90 points in the IMAT itself. The International Medical Admissions Test is used as part of the selection process for medicine and surgery courses at seventeen Italian universities. IMAT can be taken at authorised centres all over the world.
